(01-16-2012) Position Available: HEAD COACH, Swim Team: The Radnor Aquatic Club (RAC), a parent-managed 501 (c)(3) organization located in Radnor, PA is accepting applications for the position of Head Swim Coach. RAC is a competitive, year-round swim club consisting of 200 plus USA registered swimmers, varying from beginning swimmers to swimmers that compete at Junior Olympics, Zones, Sectionals, Junior Nationals and Olympic Trials. RAC competes in both the Suburban Aquatic League (SAL) and USA Swimming. RAC currently trains at Radnor High School in a 6-lane, 25-yard pool from September through June. From June through August RAC trains in a 6-lane, 50-meter pool.
Job Responsibilities
· Oversees all levels of swimming within the RAC program, setting
goals for all practice levels.
· Serves as primary coach for RAC's two highest training levels
(senior and pre-senior).
· Coaches all squad levels on a weekly basis.
· Designs season training plan for all groups.
· Determines training levels for each swimmer.
· Determines practice schedule.
· Determines meet schedule.
· Reviews and advises on SAL meet line-ups.
· Attends scheduled meets. In case of meet conflicts, attends highest
level of competition.
· Ensures that all meets have appropriate coaching coverage.
· Educates and supervises all coaches.
· Plans and directs monthly staff meetings.
· Serves as a non-voting member of the RAC board. Attends all
RAC board meetings.
· Serves as voting member on USA Swimming House of Delegates.
· Attends all pertinent SAL and USA Swimming meetings.
· Maintains team database for times and records.
· Maintains practice records for test sets to monitor improvement.
· Participates in continuing education through ASCA coursework.
Candidate Qualifications
(1) A passion for the sport and the ability to inspire RAC swimmers to
reach their goals;

The ability to communicate effectively with parents, the RAC board and
other coaches;

(6) Strong organizational, management and computer skills.
Requirements
·
Current USA Swimming Coach Certification in good standing
· A minimum of 3 years coaching experience
· Level 3 ASCA certification, preferred
· 4-year college degree preferred
· Working knowledge of Hy-Tek Team Manager/Meet Manager considered a
plus
· Must pass USA Swimming coach background checks
Compensation
Salary range will be competitive for the area and commensurate with experience.
Club covers travel, professional dues and a budget for continuing education and
coach development.
Start Date
Position will remain open until filled. Start date is spring, 2012 or as agreed
upon.

Lower
Makefield Swim & Dive Team (LMT)
is a
competitive summer swimming and diving program which develops physical skills
for children of all abilities, fosters positive social interactions, and
instills a life-long appetite for exercise in our youth, in a fun-filled
atmosphere. We have a core belief that the LMT Swim & Dive Team is preparing its
youth to not only be members of a successful swim team, but responsible members
of our society. Located in Yardley, PA. LMT is a member of the Lower Bucks Swim
League (LBSL). Home to 350 swimmers ages 5-18, the team trains at the Lower
Makefield Township Pool (8 lanes, 25 meters) located on Edgewood Rd in Yardley,
PA. We are looking to fill the Head Coach position that would lead 2 teams as
the team is divided into 2 sub-teams (A & B).
The right candidate for this position is someone with strong communication
skills who possesses an inherent enthusiasm and passion for swimming and
experience in teaching proper stroke development, technique and swimming fast to
varying levels of ages and abilities.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
planning and implementation of practices and goals for all levels
selection, development and supervision of staff (approx 15-20 coaches)
development of short & long term team/individual goals
developing and maintaining positive relationships within community, township and league.
attendance at every dual and invitational meet
participation as a member of the Parent Board Association

Head
Coach candidates should possess:
strong communication skills (as position requires regular interaction with team members of all ages, staff, parents, and township representatives)
excellent knowledge of the technical and training aspects of competitive swimming and a record of producing well-rounded swimmers with sound biomechanics
strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and challenge
qualities to be instrumental in maintaining team membership and growing the number of senior swimmers
Excellent organizational skills
General computer experience
Magnetic personality with enthusiasm for job
Preferred qualifications include:
A college degree (preferred, but not required).
Required to have a minimum of 3 years experience either coaching or teaching lessons
Certifications should include (Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR, and safety training).
Clean Background Check and/or USA Coaching certification
Familiarity with area swim teams (including winter swim teams)
Familiarity with League (LBSL)
Familiarity with software: Team Manager
Availability Requirements:Part time availability needed 3:30-7:30 from Memorial Day through the end of school year.
Full Time availability (including meets 2 nights/week) needed end of school year through July
Part time and flexible availability is needed throughout the remainder of
the year for seasonal planning and review as well as periodic meetings.
Salary will be based on experience, certifications & qualifications.
