POSITION
DESCRIPTION:
The
Assistant Aquatic Director / Head swim coach will fall under the guidance of
the Aquatic Director, this position is responsible for planning,
administration, direction and supervision of all branch swim team staff,
competitive aquatic programs and activities related to the competitive swim
team program for the Phoenixville Branch YMCA. This position is also to assist in the
supervision, scheduling, and training of lifeguards.
Qualifications:

Strong
communication skills (both written and oral)
·
Proficiency
in MS Office, internet use, Meet Manager, and Team Manager
·
Ability
to work with volunteers and teams
·
High
level of organizational skills
·
Certifications - CPR/AED/First Aid, Lifeguard
Certification, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, Principles of Coaching YMCA
Swimming (within first 90 day of hire)

Ability to work flexible schedule (nights and
weekends)
Responsibilities:
·
Maintains
a cheerful, positive and professional attitude when dealing with members and
staff, upholding at all times, the mission and principles of the YMCA.
·
Maintains safety as a top priority in all program
offerings and competitive activities.
·
Interprets and participates in formulating aquatic
competitive policies.
·
Employs and discharges coaching staff and other
department employees under direction of Aquatic Director.
·
Directs preparation and dissemination of publicity
to promote aquatic meet events.
·
Plans and coordinates activities of coaching staff.
·
Prepares budget and submits expenditures according
to department budget.
·
Attendance at meets & practices is required.
·
Assists with the hiring, training and scheduling of
lifeguards
·
Work with the Swim Team Parents Club. These responsibilities include but are
not limited to: attendance at all
meetings, communicate relevant information to officers, work with group on
special events such as end of seasons banquet/picnic and swim meets.

Directly supervises 3-6 employees in the
Competitive Aquatics Program and 40 to 50 Lifeguards. Carries out supervisory
responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable
laws.

Responsibilities include interviewing,
hiring, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising
performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and
resolving problems with in the aquatics department.

Track, record
and provide volunteer hours related to swim team coaching and events.
·
In conjunction with the Aquatic Director, develop
annual budget for the Competitive Swim Team Program.
Salary: $31,000 to $34,920
